Court Orders Arrest of Naira Marley over Alleged Car Theft

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has asked IPO in the case of an alleged car theft to produce popular Nigerian artist Adeyemi Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley on next date of adjournment. 

Naira Marley’s two brothers and a cousin were arraigned and granted bail of N500,000 with sureties in like sum.

The defendants reportedly stole a Toyota Camry and an Iphone X5 from one Mr. Adelekan Ademola around Eko Hotel roundabout on 16th Dec., while in a rough motorcade with Naira Marley. 

The complainant’s car was reportedly hit by Naira Marley’s motorcade and by when the victim came down to inspect the damage, he was beaten and one of Naira Marley’s brothers entered the complainant’s car and drove it off with the motorcade.

The car was then tracked to their destination at Jakande crescent.

Naira Marley’s brothers also allegedly prevented police from intervening by assaulting law enforcement officers after the victim called for help. 

The court has ordered that Naira Marley himself be produced on next adjournment, when the matter would be listed for hearing.
